WHAT IS CISRI?

CISRI is a U.K. not-for-profit organisation that funds and commissions research into the demographic profiles, educational options and schooling choices of families who do not access state-funded education for their school-aged children.

Through rigorous, independent research CISRI provides credible, evidence-based insights into the families who choose private education – their motivations, circumstances and socio-economic profiles – to inform policy, balance media coverage and replace assumptions with understanding.

CISRI commissions independent, academically robust research to uncover the realities behind independent education choices. Our work equips policymakers, journalists and the public with credible data that challenges stereotypes and informs constructive debate.

Our research addresses gaps in reliable data about independent schooling and deepens the understanding of the role it plays in the education landscape.
